Shackleton Gardens Pedestrian Footfalls FCC
Shackelton Gardens are a beautiful walled garden in the Dublin 15 area of Fingal County Council Adminsitrative Area and were awarded in the 1980's two start The good Garden Guide in the British Isle, now fully restored by Fingal County Council (2017-2022) and open to the public for a wonderful visit and to see beautiful blooms and rare plants in a quiet and beautiful seren place. This 1.5 acre walled garden, are home to a wide range of rare and exocit plants, including an important collection of herbaceous perenials,grown in larger flower boards, a feast for the eye and nose, and a great win for biodeversity. Fingal County Council acquired the Shackelton Gardens in 2017 and has been working on its restoration with with voluteers and and the council staff. This is now open since 2022 as an important local amenity, visitor attraction and tourism asset in the Dublin 15 area. The restoration works have involved the rebuilding of large sections of the garden walls, upgrading of paths and the restoration of garden buildings. The shackleton Gardens are located within easy walking distance of a large urban population in Dublin 15 and is immediatley adjacent to the commuter railway station at clonsilla. The ease of access by rail and but and on foot makes this a great tourist attraction for the local's and wider public and tourists alike. We have just in installed pedestrian counters in this tourist attraction to see the number of visitor's which is climbing and it's great to see people visiting a wonderful garden and one in a kind haven, for nature and biodiversity.
